Meaningful measurement at DevLearn 2019

Kate Pasterfield, Sponge’s Chief Innovation Officer and award-winning learning technologies designer is challenging learning professionals to rethink learning measurement at the Elearning Guild’s 15th annual DevLearn event in Las Vegas (23-25 October).

Kate is presenting a conference session, Meaningful Measurement: Getting Greater Value from Learning Analytics at 10:45-11:45am (PDT) on Thursday, 24 October, looking at ways to gain a richer picture of the experience of learning and how to interpret the data to benefit learners and organisations.

In her session, Kate will offer practical tips for getting meaningful insights from learning analytics, showing diverse examples of what can be achieved by pushing measurement beyond the LMS.

Attendees to the elearning conference, the biggest of its kind in the United States, can find Kate’s session in the Data and Measurement track.  During the session, Kate will discuss:    

  • How learner behavioural data can be used to empower L&D
  • Techniques to frame the right questions to unlock focused data capture
  • Practical tips for getting meaningful insights from your data
  • Ways to tailor learning programmes based on behavioural insights
  • How to win over your stakeholders with beautiful and insightful data presentation

As a precursor, Kate is also hosting an ‘early bird’ discussion for conference delegates, Learning Analytics: Are We Measuring What Matters?

The ‘Morning Buzz’ workshop at 07:30-08:15am (PDT) on Thursday, 24 October will enable participants to share their own thoughts and insights about improving measurement in learning.

Kate is a regular speaker at the world’s biggest learning technologies events, previously hosting sessions on 360° interactive video at DevLearn and mobile VR at Realities360.  

As a leading elearning innovator, Kate has received industry-wide recognition for her work, including the gold prize for Learning Technologies Designer of the Year at the LT Awards 2016.
