Our ‘Whistleblowing’ e-learning was developed in cooperation with Dr Carsten Thiel von Herff, LL.M. He is the founder and owner of the law firm Thiel von Herff | Rechtsanwälte and, with more than 15 years of global experience in compliance, one of the leading German experts in this field. For many years, Dr Carsten Thiel von Herff has acted as ombudsman for companies such as IKEA, Beiersdorf, HUGO BOSS, TÜV NORD, ALDI Süd, EDEKA and the German Football League, as well as for smaller entities with only a few employees.

Compliance Essentials for Business Partners

With this training, you can effectively communicate your corporate values and compliance rules to business partners and suppliers. In addition to presenting your own Code of Conduct, the training focuses on the topics of integrity in business, corruption, and antitrust law. For additional selection, we offer lessons on data protection, information security, export control, prevention of money laundering and due diligence.

For this learning programme, we rely on the expertise of several expert authors. Dr Gina Greeve, partner at the law firm MGR in Frankfurt, is responsible for the contents of the welcome lesson as well as for "Our Values", "Social Responsibility", "Integrity in Business" and "Due Diligence". Dr Johann Bizer, CEO of Dataport, contributes the content for the lesson "Protecting Information". The lesson "Trade Restrictions" relies on the expertise of Dr Bärbel Sachs from the law firm Noerr. With this learning programme, you can raise awareness among your staff about human rights and modern slavery in the work context. Exemplary situations from day-to-day practice, in which the learners accompany different protagonists, illustrate the most important aspects of this topic. Information security - IT security and best practice for handling sensitive information.

This training imparts the necessary competence in the correct handling of information worthy of protection. Your employees will learn how to ensure information security at the workplace, when working from home, in public and on the Internet using hands-on tips. Capital markets compliance - insider trading, investor protection, and market manipulation.

The profitable exploitation of knowledge advantages, so-called insider trading, is prohibited. Market manipulation, i.e. influencing price determination by spreading false information or feigned actions, is also prohibited. The legal basis for this is the European Market Abuse Regulation and the European Directive on Criminal Sanctions for Market Manipulation.

Dealing with conflicts of interest - recognising and mastering critical situations

Using many practical examples, we show when conflicts of interest can typically arise, which factors play a role and how employees should react in the event of a conflict. This training provides your employees with a comprehensive overview of the topic antitrust law. Dr. Birnstiel advises clients in all areas of antitrust, abuse and merger control proceedings at Noerr in Munich. Since 1999, Dr. Metzlaff has been specialist in antitrust and franchising at Noerr in Berlin as well as an associate professor in media antitrust law at the European University Viadrina. Dr Bergmann heads Raue's antitrust practice and advises on all aspects of German and European antitrust law with a particular focus on regulated industries and compliance advice.

Vigilance in financial transactions - preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.

This learning programme provides your employees with an easy introduction to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. In addition to conveying basic knowledge in a comprehensible way, the focus is on creating an authentic practical reference using numerous interactive and target group-oriented case studies. Critical key aspects such as 'Know Your Customer' and 'Beneficial Owner' are trained as well as current methods of money laundering.

Thus, this programme not only meets legal training requirements, but also strengthens your company against money laundering, suspicious transactions, and terrorist financing by teaching your employees how to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-life situations and how to behave correctly in the event of suspected money laundering.
